Can you Tune a Baritone Ukulele in Standard High G, gCEA ukulele tuning?
"Yes", you can tune a baritone ukulele like a standard ukulele, but you need the right strings.

The standard baritone ukulele strings are lower in pitch than the standard ukulele tuning. They are tuned to DGBE (the same as the top four strings of a guitar). They also differ from the standard ukulele as they are not in re-entrant tuning i.e.. the strings go from low to high, know as linear tuning.
The Scale length of the baritone is longer than that of a Tenor Ukulele. The strings are pulled to a lower tension and produce notes lower in pitch than regular ukulele. A Baritone is usually tuned to DGBE, which are also the four highest notes/strings of a regular guitar.
BUT WHY CAN'T I JUST RE-TUNE MY STANDARD BARITONE STRINGS?
If you attempt to tune your standard baritone strings up in pitch to gCEA you will most likely start snapping strings and/or pull your bridge off the top of your ukulele.

Baritone to Tenor tuning Conversion Strings made by Aquila are made specifically to produce notes of gCEA at the correct tension at the baritone scale length. From the treble side to bass side / 1st string to 4th string are about 025 031 038 027 in thousandths of an inch.

Due to the higher density, similar to that of pure gut (1.30 gr/cm3), the New Nylgut® produces a better sound than Nylon.
In other words, the New Nylgut® is probably the first genuine syntetic gut in the world.

- a more accurated fret-intonation due to the well gauged material;

The best sound quality develops when the strings have completely set, which may ordinarily take sometime. To achieve a stable intonation in just a few minutes you can repeatedly pinch each string at midlength with your fingers, pull it decidedly sideways and tune it up again. Stop when the string does not pull out of tune anymore.
